According to data from Morgan Stanley bank and sales summary from brands provided by CnEVPost, in the week of May 6-12, the number of BYD cars registered in China reached a record milestone.

Many Chinese domestic brands recorded good development, in addition to BYD, which increased by 30% compared to last week, Li Auto and Nio both saw double-digit growth.
In the first two weeks of May, through the 12th, BYD had 101,300 vehicles registered in China.
Compared to the first week of May, Li Auto increased sales by 50%, reaching 8,000 vehicles.
In the ranking of electrified vehicle sales of Chinese brands last week, the results of BYD, Leapmotor and Deepal counted both pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), while Deepal counted range-extending electric vehicle models.
Not in the top 11 is Xiaomi – the smartphone manufacturer that just launched its first electric car model at the end of December 2023 – sold 1,100 cars last week, down 15.38% compared to 1,300 cars last week.
BYD, short for `Build Your Dreams`, was founded in 1995 and was initially best known as a manufacturer of batteries for electronic devices and vehicles.
Since 2003, BYD has started producing cars, initially gasoline cars.
By 2023, BYD becomes the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer with global sales of more than 3 million vehicles, including nearly 2.6 million vehicles sold in China and 400,000 vehicles in other markets.
Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is completing the final preparations to launch to Vietnamese customers in June this year, with plans to expand its showroom system in Hanoi and City.
BYD will soon `land` on the Vietnamese market with many new electric car models.
BYD Auto Vietnam, a subsidiary with 100% investment capital from BYD China, will be responsible for distributing these car models in Vietnam.
These products are all imported directly from China, in addition, BYD is also planning to build a factory in Vietnam.
