Yesterday and this morning, many services of two internet giants Google and Facebook simultaneously encountered inaccessibility problems, or errors in not being able to download attachments or images.
A series of Google services collapsed on the morning of March 13
The problem started on the morning of March 13 (Vietnam time), when a series of Google services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive or the Google Classroom classroom management service were inaccessible, or encountered problems.
Users have reported that attachments cannot be downloaded on Gmail.
Some YouTube videos are also unwatchable, but the rate of users encountering errors on Youtube seems to be lower than on other Google services.
`We are investigating reports of issues related to Gmail/Google Drive and will provide more information soon. Users will still be able to access Gmail/Google Drive, but may see an error message
Another announcement from TeamYouTube also acknowledged the problems encountered, including newly uploaded videos that cannot be processed and some videos that cannot be played back.
Google services experienced problems in both North and South America, Europe and Asia, although not all users were affected.
Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp encountered problems from the night of March 13 to the morning of March 14
Starting at around 11 pm last night (Vietnam time), users reported not being able to access Facebook and services like Instagram or WhatsApp.
As of this morning, March 14, this situation has not been completely resolved.
Many users cannot even log into their accounts.
According to a recent post, Facebook admitted the problem made its services inaccessible and said it was trying to fix it.
Google and Facebook encountered the same problem two days in a row
Currently, both Google and Facebook have not revealed the cause of their problems, but it seems that both internet giants are having the same problem.
The most reasonable reason to explain is that both of their servers were attacked by hackers, although Facebook denied it.
Google also did not reveal any reasons to explain the widespread incidents that have just occurred.
