After just 11 fights in his MMA career, Alex Pereira became a back-to-back two-division champion after he defeated Jiri Prochazka and captured the light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 295.
Accordingly, Alex Pereira won the championship after punishing Prochazka with early leg kicks and then defeating the former with a powerful left hook that knocked Prochazka unconscious as he fell backwards.
Replays showed that Prochazka got up quite quickly and that the referee’s intervention was too hasty;
“I’m not surprised,” Pereira said after the match.
Alex Pereira became a two-weight champion after only 11 matches.
Although there were many questions about Goddard’s decision, Prochazka did not complain when the loss was mentioned.
“I think in the end, it was right,” Prochazka said.
Before the end, the former GLORY champion hurt his opponent with powerful kicks to Prochazka’s legs, causing the Czech fighter to have swelling in his legs.
After the victory, Alex Pereira quickly turned his attention to old enemy Israel Adesanya in hopes of revenge.
“I’m not the type of person to call people out but there was someone back in the day who said I wouldn’t do anything different in the new weight class,” Pereira said.

“I know that I wouldn’t have done what he did to me to get me to fight him three times at middleweight.
Although he would love to fight Adesanya, Pereira also mentioned former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill, who appeared at cageside hoping for a chance to reclaim the title he relinquished after suffering a torn rope.
“I was an active fighter, now an active champion,” Pereira said.
